Meet the team:
Ken Leiner, Founder & President
Ken Leiner began recruiting for technology vendors in 1987 and founded Ken Leiner Associates (KLA) in 1990. Originally a one-man band, Ken teamed up with Frank Munero in 1991 and Stuart Neuwelt in 1992. This dynamic team grew the company throughout the 90s into one of the premier search firms focused on helping technology vendors build their sales, marketing and technical teams. Ken's philosophy of recruiting and qualifying the best candidates for KLA’s clients includes taking a personal consultative approach with his clients while also looking out for the candidates' best interests, and this has contributed to the strong reputation KLA has in the industry. After 23 years in the business, Ken is as passionate as ever about recruiting and gets excited by the day-to-day challenges of closing placements, mentoring his team, and coaching candidates and clients in the technology industry.
When not at work, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife Sandra and their young daughter Corrina, and helping his son Matt launch his film production career. Whenever possible, Ken enjoys playing volleyball and traveling to Louisiana to check out the Zydeco music and dance.

Frank Munero, Partner
Frank joined Ken Leiner as his first “associate” back in 1991 and has been the #1 producing recruiter every year since then, while also helping Ken grow and manage the company. A strong relationship builder, Frank is also a meticulous qualifier; he has high standards for both the companies and the candidates that he represents. His customers understand that when he brings them a candidate, they don’t have to question the candidate’s qualifications. Likewise, his candidates trust his judgment when he recommends a specific opportunity. Frank's reputation preceeds him. People seek his advice and input even when he’s not representing them. Stuart Neuwelt
Stuart Neuwelt began working with KLA in 1992, after a 12-year stint as a recruiter in the financial industry. With a primary focus on the DC area Federal market he also extensively recruits sales and pre-sales systems engineers for top-tier hardware and software vendors in the computer industry. Stuart has built a successful practice by taking a hands-on approach, carefully listening to the requirements of his clients and candidates, then matching them to the best opportunities available. The care and attention he applies to fulfilling their needs has led to making great placements and forming long-term relationships.
Stuart works with KLA clients and candidates from Washington, DC to Southern California. When Stuart is not at work, you're likely to find him playing beach volleyball, running, or spending time with his family. He is hard-working, team-oriented and personable; the kind of person you want to work with to get your job done well.

Gary Boisen
A natural-born go-getter and competitor, Gary joined the KLA team in 2004 after 23 years in IT sales. Throughout his sales career, he has consistently exceeded annual quota attainment–which spans the NT, Novell, UNIX, VMS and IBM 370 operating systems running on workstations, servers, minicomputers, LAN/WAN and mainframes–selling enterprise management solutions, systems software, application development tools, programmer productivity tools, web applications/services and consulting and conversion services. Gary has repeatedly demonstrated expertise in new accounts penetration and major/national account sales, and has won numerous awards and Club trips.
When not finding his clients the best talent, or his candidates their next best job, Gary can be found at the local WSC. He is a baby-boomer, fitness fanatic engaged in a personal battle against Father Time. He has enjoyed various competitions in Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting, has participated in mountaineering and rock climbing, and for the past 20 years, has been active in martial arts. Gary lives quietly with his wife, Jan the “Aerobics Queen”, and his daughter in Germantown, MD.

Alan Strober
Alan joined KLA in 2007 with more than 16 previous years of sales and sales management experience in the software and technology industry. As a former hiring manager he has an intimate understanding of the issues that face both managers and candidates, and is passionate about making the hiring process easier and more successful for both parties. He believes that by spending more time learning the specific needs of his hiring clients and the strengths and experiences of his candidates, less time and energy will be wasted on both ends. Ultimately, his most important goal is providing the best possible matches – finding the best candidates to fill his clients’ requirements and placing his candidates into exciting new opportunities that fit their backgrounds and skills.
Alan is a native of the Washington, DC area and lives in Gaithersburg, MD. When not working he enjoys spending time with his wife Anne and two young sons, Max and Benny. An avid fly fisherman, he also travels extensively in pursuit of this hobby.

Jim Horstmann
Jim’s more than 20 years of experience in the Information Technology industry includes technology recruiting, sales, sales engineering, and management with companies selling to both the Federal government and mid-Atlantic commercial accounts. He has worked in both large and small organizations providing IT software and services.
Jim is known for his ability to focus and deliver. Based on his versatile experience as a hiring manager, candidate and a recruiter, he is uniquely able to rapidly qualify and fill opportunities for sales reps, business development managers, account managers, sales managers (including the VP level), systems engineers, product managers, marketing and sales operations personnel. Jim’s knowledge of business development and the Federal procurement process is also extensive; he has successfully assisted many organizations in building and expanding their Federal presence.
Jim graduated from Millersville University with a BS in Computer Science and has continued his formal education at George Mason University.

Erin Mulloy
Erin Mulloy first met Ken Leiner in 1990 when they both launched their own recruiting firms and pursued teaming opportunities together. She engaged both contingency and retained contact work with key clients such as Tivoli Systems, Marimba, ISS, Bowstreet, Broadbase Software and more. After 17 years of managing a successful recruiting firm, Erin decided to officially join forces with KLA in 2007. A passionate recruiter, she builds partnerships and opportunities with both her clients’ and her candidates’ best interests in mind. Backed by a strong work ethic, she approaches her work with honesty, integrity and a focus on quality; from first thoroughly understanding a client's needs to performing strategic searches with extensive screening. As a result, she has earned a high level of trust and respect from her clients.
Erin focuses on building world class Sales and Sales Support Teams (Pre & Post Sales) in major US Cities for both Commercial and U.S. Federal markets, with an additional expertise in Marketing and Professional Services.
